Quantum science at the service of biology and medicine
Quantum effects have been primarily studied in proteins used by photosynthetic organisms. However, many non-photosynthetic microbes could also be exploiting quantum processes to drive global biogeochemical processes. Additionally, quantum computing holds promise for revolutionizing healthcare by enabling the simulation of complex biological systems, leading to breakthroughs in drug discovery, personalized medicine, and the understanding of diseases at a molecular level.
